Digital Copy with PID Special Edition: Spain´s Aurum Producciones releases international blockbuster, Twilight, on DVD and Blu-ray

Movie fans in Spain are the latest to benefit from a new revolution in Digital File copying. Sony DADC’s imaginative Digital Copy with PID™ was used as an additional bonus feature for consumers who decided to buy the special edition of Twilight (known in Spain as “Crepúsculo”) on DVD or Blu-ray.

Straight after buying the movie, consumers can activate their movie and select between a file for watching on their computer and a second lower resolution file for viewing Crepúsculo on portable devices.

The title was released on DVD and Blu-ray in April 2009 with almost instant effect. Despite this being a relatively new facility on the Spanish market, several hundred users activated their Digital Copy application on the first day after the release.
“With our special editions carrying a Digital Copy version of the movie, we were able to create an appealing offering for our customers. Appealing to younger viewers, the target group for this movie values the flexibility of being able to view movies wherever they go and whenever they want,” says Luís García, Operations Coordinator at Aurum.
